Casualties reported as SDF and Syrian troops clash in Aleppo
Shafaq News – Aleppo
Clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-affiliated Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and Syrian government troops in Aleppo left at least three civilians dead and 15 others wounded, Shafaq News correspondent reported on Monday.
The fighting erupted in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, according to local media.
Both sides exchanged accusations over responsibility for the escalation. The Asayish said earlier that their positions came under attack, while Syria’s Interior Ministry accused SDF elements deployed at joint checkpoints of triggering the violence.
Videos circulating on social media showed displacement from several Aleppo neighborhoods near the areas of fighting, while other footage appeared to show both sides dispatching reinforcements to their forces in the city.

Tensions in the area have repeatedly flared since the fall of the former Bashar Al-Assad government. In October, at least ten people were injured or suffered tear gas inhalation when Syrian government forces dispersed a protest against road closures leading to the two neighborhoods, according to an SDF statement at the time.
