FIBA appoints Iraqi referee for Olympic qualifying matches

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) selected Iraqi international referee Ahmed Al-Shuwaili on Tuesday to officiate matches in the preliminary qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Mexico will host the tournament in mid-August, with eight of the world's top national teams competing for places in the Olympic qualification pathway.
