US airstrikes targeting units of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) killed 71 people and injured 196 others, a security source told Shafaq News on Wednesday.

A total of 67 strikes hit multiple locations where PMF units operate, with most casualties caused by direct air attacks. Authorities are still verifying the damage, warning the toll may rise in the coming hours.

Since the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran on February 28, PMF units have faced recurring attacks, particularly in the Jurf Al-Nasr area of Iraq’s Babil province, while several Iraqi factions launched dozens of attacks targeting US positions in Iraq and in several Gulf countries, as well as Jordan.
