Rabid dog attack injures five in Iraq’s Basra

A rabid dog attacked five people, including four children, in central Basra on Thursday, leaving them with serious injuries, a security source said.
The attack began in an alley in the Jubaila area, where two children were targeted, one sustaining severe wounds while the other escaped. A man who intervened to help was bitten in the face. The dog went on to attack others in the same area, with injuries reported to the face, shoulder, and leg.
