Iraq’s road to 2026 World Cup confirmed

Iraq’s national football team departed Mexico on Thursday morning and is expected to arrive in Baghdad later in the day after securing qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
The team booked its place at the tournament with a 2–1 victory over
Bolivia in Monterrey, marking a long-awaited return to football’s biggest
stage.
The World Cup draw subsequently placed Iraq in Group A alongside France, Norway, and Senegal. The team opens its campaign against Norway on June 17, followed by a match against France on June 23. Iraq concludes the group stage against Senegal on June 26, with hopes of advancing to the knockout stage.
