10-year-old girl sexually assaulted in central Basra

Basra emergency police found a girl no older than 10 early Monday on Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis Street in central Basra after she had been sexually assaulted, a security source told Shafaq News.
The girl directed the relevant authorities to the place where she had been taken and provided a description that helped investigators identify the suspects’ address, the source said.
Her family has filed a legal complaint, and the case is currently being handled by the Anti-Crime Directorate.
