Ukraine shot down roughly 2,300 Russian aerial targets in a single month, the Ministry of Defense reported on Wednesday, pointing to the expanding use of interceptor drones amid intensifying Russian missile attacks.
The ministry detailed that the data reflects a growing reliance on unmanned systems designed to detect and destroy incoming drones and missiles before they reach their targets, while noting that production and deployment of interceptor drones are being scaled up rapidly.
“The trend illustrates a broader transformation on the battlefield, where drone-on-drone engagements are becoming more common alongside traditional air defense systems,” it added, stressing that the expanded use of interceptor drones could help reduce damage and strengthen protection for critical infrastructure across Ukraine.
