US imposes Syria-related sanctions on officials and entities

Shafaq News/ The United States on Monday imposed sanctions on eleven entities and eight individuals and officials it accused of providing support to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as Washington continued to impose sanctions aimed at cutting off funds for Assad's government. 

Washington is seeking to pressure the government of President Bashar al-Assad to return to negotiations led by the United Nations to end the war that began about a decade ago in Syria.
