US confirms missing crew after Iran downs two aircraft
Shafaq News- Washington/ Tehran
US forces recovered one crew member after Iranian fire downed two military aircraft during combat operations, while another remains missing, the Washington Post said on Friday.
An F-15E fighter jet crashed inside Iran, while an A-10 attack aircraft took damage but reached Kuwaiti airspace, where the pilot ejected and rescuers retrieved him.
Iranian fire also hit two US Black Hawk helicopters during the rescue mission, injuring personnel on board, but both aircraft returned to base.
Earlier today, Iranian state media reported that residents gathered near the crash site, while officials urged civilians not to harm the pilot. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump noted on Friday that the downing of an American warplane by Iran would not affect any negotiations between the two countries.
