PMF commander transferred to force’s custody after detention

A Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) commander and three other members detained earlier on Monday were transferred to the force's security directorate, a PMF spokesperson said.

Muhannad al-Uqabi, director of the PMF's media directorate, said a “misunderstanding” surrounding the detention had been resolved.

The commander, Abu Jaafar, a member of the PMF's staff office, had been detained at his home in an area of east Baghdad, along with three other members, according to a security source.
