Israeli strike kills one man in south Lebanon; violations surpass 5,200
Shafaq News – Beirut
An Israeli drone strike on Tuesday targeted a vehicle in the city of Bint Jbeil, killing one person, according to Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry.
Lebanese media outlets reported that the strike hit a car belonging to an employee of the Union of Bint Jbeil Municipalities.
Eyewitnesses told Shafaq News that the victim had just left a meeting with United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) personnel inside the city's municipality building moments before the strike. UN vehicles, they added, continued their route immediately after leaving the area.
In separate incidents, an Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade over the town of Blida in the Marjeyoun district. Another drone strike at dawn ignited a fire after a bomb was dropped on an excavator in the same area, local media said.
Bursts of gunfire were reported from an Israeli position toward the outskirts of Houla and Markaba, while low-altitude drone activity was recorded over the towns of Nabatieh and Saida districts. Israeli warplanes were also reported flying over Baalbek, eastern Lebanon.
