Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut’s southern suburb

Two Israeli airstrikes targeted Beirut’s southern suburb on Friday, local media reported, adding that the strikes bombed three different streets.

One strike hit Hay al-Amrikan neighborhood, along the road leading to the Al-Mujtaba complex, one of Hezbollah’s complexes in Beirut. Another strike was recorded in Haret Hreik area along with its surroundings, as well as a strike on Kafaat area.

In a post on X, the Israeli military spokesperson claimed that the “army had begun targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut.”

Since hostilities resumed on March 2, Israeli strikes have killed more than 1,368 people and injured 4,138 others, including 125 children and 91 women among the dead, and 429 children and 483 women among the wounded, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. On the Israeli side, authorities said 6,286 people have been taken to hospitals since the start of the conflict, with 100 still receiving treatment.
