Kurdistan delegation begins Baghdad’s meetings with the American ambassador
Shafaq News / The delegation of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) began on Wednesday morning, a series of meetings in Baghdad, and a meeting with the American ambassador.
After the meeting with the U.S. ambassador, the meetings will include an important meeting with the Minister of Oil, Deputy Prime Minister ,Thamer Al-Ghadban to discuss the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Kurdistan and the salaries of the region’s employees, One of the delegation’s companions told Shafaq News.
The delegation will also meet the Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, followed by a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament, then with the President of Wisdom movement (al-Hikma in Arabic) Ammar al-Hakim and the leader of the State of Law coalition ,Nuri al-Maliki.
Yesterday, the media office of Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, announced that the latter will head a high-level delegation from KRG to visit the capital, Baghdad.
Samir Hawrami, spokesman for Talabani’s office, said in a statement to Shafaq News, that the purpose of the visit is to continue the previous meetings that KRG delegation held with the federal government in order to find a solution to the differences and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
For his part, a informed source told Shafaq News said that the visit came under the direction of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, at the request of the head of the current caretaker government, Adel Abdul Mahdi.
