Iran announces a free trade zone with Kurdistan region
Shafaq News/ The Iranian Consul General in Sulaimaniyah province, Mehdi Shushtari said on Tuesday that his country is ready to establish a trade zone between Iran and Halabja province in Kurdistan region.
"The Islamic Republic has previously announced that the border crossings (Bashta and Shushmeh) have become official," Shushtari said in a news conference with Halabja Governor , Azad Tawfiq after a meeting between them.
He added that "during the talks with the governor of Halabja , I expressed full readiness to provide the necessary facilities for commercial and investment projects between the province and Iran," adding that "among those projects is the establishment of a free trade zone between the two sides."
