Fatwa Committee in Kurdistan Region prohibits the establishment of consolation councils and religious events

Shafaq News / Fatwa Committee of Kurdistan Region decided on Monday to temporarily prevent the establishment of consolation councils and religious events as part of the efforts to avoid the outbreak of Corona virus.

The governor of Erbil, Firsat Sofi said after a meeting with the Supreme Committee that it had been decided to prevent the establishment of condolence councils in the province from us from now until February 21 of current March.

He clarified that the issuance of this decision at a time when Erbil did not record any case of Corona infection, noting that the decision will be extended in case it was required.

For its part, the Directorate of Endowments in Sulaymaniyah Province announced that temporary condolence councils and religious events would be banned.
