Shafaq News / The co-chair of the Health Authority in northeastern Syria warned on Monday of a humanitarian crisis due to the outbreak of the New Coronavirus.

During a press conference held in the city of Qamishli, Joan Mustafa, said the epidemiological situation in the Autonomous Administration is out of control, calling on the World Health Organization (WHO) to "immediately intervene…the situation in the region is catastrophic ... The infections and deaths of the Corona virus are increasing."

"The WHO has not provided any support so far, it is not serious about introducing the vaccine to the Region." He said.

Mustafa called on citizens to "cooperate with health personnel and internal security forces to limit the spread of the virus."

Earlier, the Kurdish-led Autonomous Administration of Northeastern Syria imposed a 10-days total curfew starting from Tuesday, April 13 as part of Covid-19 preventive measures.
