President Barzani with Iran’s FM: Regional developments on table

Shafaq News/ Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met, on Sunday, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran.
According to a statement from the Kurdish Presidency, the discussions focused on bilateral relations and explored opportunities to expand cooperation across various sectors. The two sides also addressed the broader regional situation, underscoring the critical importance of dialogue in preventing conflicts.
The meeting came during the Kurdish President’s visit to the Iranian capital to attend the Tehran Dialogue Forum, at Araghchi’s invitation.
Earlier today, Barzani held talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the forum. Both leaders emphasized the importance of expanding ties and safeguarding regional stability.
Speaking at the event, Barzani criticized Baghdad’s “failure” to implement constitutional provisions related to federalism, while reassuring neighboring states that the Kurdistan Region will not serve as a base for destabilizing activity.
