President Barzani at MSC2025: Meetings with Syria, Bulgaria, Armenia

Shafaq News/ On Saturday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani engaged in a series of diplomatic meetings at the Munich Security Conference 2025, addressing regional security and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation with Syria, Bulgaria, and Armenia.
In a meeting with Syrian transitional Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani, Barzani emphasized the importance of regional stability and highlighted the need to protect the rights of all Syrian communities, including the Kurds, stressing that dialogue and cooperation among all parties are crucial for achieving peace and security in Syria. For his part, Al-Shibani reaffirmed Syria's commitment to stability and expressed a desire to strengthen ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region

Separately, Barzani met with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, confirming the Kurdistan Region's desire to expand relations with Bulgaria. The two leaders discussed enhancing cooperation in various fields, including security and economy. Barzani praised Bulgaria's role in the international coalition against terrorism, while Radev expressed Bulgaria's readiness to strengthen ties and acknowledged the Kurdistan Region's role in fostering stability in Iraq and the region.

In a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Barzani discussed expanding relations and cooperation in areas such as economy, culture, labor, and trade – in addition to the possibility of establishing direct flights between Erbil and Yerevan. Pashinyan expressed Armenia's willingness to strengthen ties and commended the Kurdistan Region's role as a “model for coexistence and stability in the region.”
