KRG commends EU's Support for refugees and displaced people

Shafaq News / The Kurdistan Regional Government praised the European Union's role in providing assistance to refugees and displaced individuals and supporting the Kurdistan Region during "challenging times."

The government called on the international community to play a larger role in preventing violence and expanding the scope of wars and conflicts in the region.

In a statement, the Department of Relations in the Kurdistan Region revealed that Safeen Dizayee, the official of the department, met today with the official of the European Union's office in the Kurdistan Region."

The statement highlighted, "both sides exchanged views on the latest developments and the escalating events in the region in general, emphasizing the expansion of cooperation and coordination in various fields."

The statement further noted that "the European official expressed his gratitude to the Department of Foreign Relations in the region for facilitating and allowing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the areas in need."

Dizayee highly appreciated the European Union's role in assisting refugees and displaced people and supporting the Kurdistan Regional Government during challenging times. He urged the international community to exert greater efforts to prevent violence and broaden the scope of wars and conflicts.
