Baghdad-Erbil relations require dialogue not escalation

Relations between Baghdad and Erbil have faced repeated disputes and crises in recent years over differing interpretations of several shared issues, a member of the Kurdistan Region Presidency office said on Sunday.
Speaking at a panel organized by the Al-Farahidi Foundation for Dialogue and Development in Baghdad, Kefi Abdullah described the Iraqi capital as a “strategic depth” for the Kurdistan Region, saying Baghdad and Erbil are mutually important to each other.
