Two defendants admit of killing a cleric in a "heinous way" in Baghdad
Shafaq News/ Al- Kadhimiya Court of Investigation confirmed the confessions of two defendants who killed a cleric in a "heinous way" after he was hit by sharp instruments to steal money from him.
A statement issued by the Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council said that "the defendants confessed before the investigating judge that they work as (drivers) for the victim (cleric) and was killed after being beaten with knives as they stole money from him in addition to two-wheel drive vehicles that they offered for sale."
The statement pointed out that "the defendants were arrested on the basis of intelligence and under the direct supervision of the judge, while their statements were certified in accordance with the provisions of Article 406 of the Iraqi Penal Code and are being referred to the trial court to receive their fair punishment.”
