Turkey supports Al-Kadhimi’s government, Erdogan

Shafaq News / The President of the Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced his country's support for the new Iraqi government headed by Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

“ Erdogan sent a message to Al-Kadhimi, congratulating the him for the government obtaining confidence of the parliament, saying that it "came as a result of the continuous efforts to form it," a statement issued by the Iraqi government mentioned on Saturday.

According to the statement, Erdogan "expressed his full confidence in the government's success in its mission during this difficult period the entire world is going through, not just Iraq."

The statement quoted Erdogan as saying that "Turkey will be with Iraq for the sake of its unity and prosperity, and that Turkey has the will to push the relations between the two countries further, to serve the interests of the two friendly neighbors, reiterating wishes to the Iraqi government and people for more prosperity."
