MP: The curfew in the popular areas in Iraq is a "Lie"
Shafaq News / Faleh al-Khazali, a member of parliament considered on Wednesday the imposition of a curfew in the popular areas of Iraq as a "lie", calling for the dismissal of security leaders for failing to implement the ban in those areas.
Khazali said in a statement today that "the curfew in the popular areas is a lie that was believed by the media and the crisis cell."
He added that "the provincial officials do not convey the facts to indicate the extent of the risks of the spread of Corona virus."
Khazali added by saying, "Now the popular areas have a normal movement," noting that "security leaders who do not implement the ban should be fired."
The federal government has extended the curfew imposed until the beginning of next April in an attempt to contain Corona virus, but this did not prevent the increasing number of cases of the virus, which has reached hundreds in addition to 28 deaths.
