Iranian president accuses America of riding the wave of protests in Iraq

Shafaq News/ The Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani accused on Thursday the United States of riding a wave of angry protests in Baghdad and several central and southern provinces in Iraq.

"In today's circumstances, we do not doubt that the Iraqi people took to the streets to demand prosperity and reconstruction, to address problems and to warn those responsible," Rouhani said in a speech delivered at the 33^rd International Conference of Islamic Unity in Tehran.

"But they (the Americans) are riding the wave to turn this popular movement into insurgency, killing and disagreement," he said.
