Injuries among security forces by a grenade in central Baghdad

Shafaq News/ Baghdad Operations Command announced on Wednesday that a number of its members were wounded by a grenade thrown by one of the uncontrolled elements among the demonstrators near Tahrir Square in central Baghdad.

"A number of fighters of Baghdad Operations Command suffered various injuries, including a regiment, after one of the uncontrolled elements  of the peaceful demonstrators in al-Khalani Square threw a grenade targeting our security forces in charge of providing protection to protesters," the command said in a statement.

In its statement, the leadership directed the demonstrators to remove such elements of their ranks in order not to harm the peaceful demonstration.
