Hundreds of demonstrators gather south of Iraq demanding their wages be paid
Shafaq News / Hundreds of teachers and writers working for free within Basra Education Council called on the local government on Tuesday to pay their dues and wages that they had not received for many months.
The demonstration came after the patience of thousands of teachers ended who had social problems and suffering as a result of delayed disbursement of their entitlements, appealing to the local government to develop a solution and expedite the disbursement of funds, the representative of teachers in Basra, Muhammad al-Musawi, told Shafaq News Agency.
He indicated that the number of volunteers, including teachers , craftsmen and writers, is more than ten thousand, most of them have families and their living conditions are very difficult, as the government must expedite the payment of their rights.
Basra Governorate witnessed at the same time a demonstration outside the headquarters of the local Basra government in Al-Maqal area by the daily wages workers who were appointed within (30) thousand job grades by Basra government demanding the payment of their wages that were not paid for 4 months.
