Thousands mourn Hezbollah’s Nasrallah in Baghdad

Shafaq News/ Thousands of Iraqis gathered in Baghdad on Sunday for a symbolic central funeral procession honoring former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.
Mourners filled the streets and squares, carrying large portraits of Nasrallah alongside Hezbollah, Lebanese, and Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) flags. Many participants expressed their unwavering loyalty to Nasrallah, emphasizing the deep political and resistance ties between Iraq and Lebanon.
One mourner stated, "We are here today to honor the man who stood for resistance and unity, both for Lebanon and Iraq."
The official funeral ceremony is held in Beirut for Nasrallah and his successor, Hashem Safieddine. The event at Camille Chamoun Sports City is hosting delegations from Iran, Iraq, and various political and religious figures from around the world.
Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike on September 27, 2024
