The ministry of defense mourns a highly ranked official who passed away of COVID-19

Shafaq News / The Minister of Defense, Jumah Inad Saadoun, mourned the passing of an officer in the ministry, who perished of the complications of COVID-19.
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, Inad said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Lieutenant General Hamid Hamid Khamis Ghanem Al-Shammari, who passed away for the complications of the Coronavirus...".
Many Iraqi officials, including high-ranking security leaders, has contracted COVID-19. Some of them passed away from the complications of the virus, most prominently the former Iraqi border guards commander Leitenant General Hamid al-Husseini.
