Iraqi former MP denies being subjected to an assassination attempt

Shafaq News / The Secretary of the Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party, Raed Fahmy, denied that he was subjected to an assassination attempt in Baghdad.
Fahmy told Shafaq News agency, "spreading such rumors may have been intended by some parties, to try to destabilize the security situation in Iraq and confuse public opinion."
Fahmy was a member of the Iraqi parliament for Sairoon coalition, before he resigned after the October 2019 protests.
