Iraq Dispatches wheat, medical supplies and Fuel to Lebanon
Shafaq News / The official Iraqi News Agency stated that the cabinet agreed today, Friday, to send 13 thousand tons of wheat, 3500 cubic meters of diesel and medical equipment to Lebanon.
Following the Beirut explosion, Iraq sent the first batch of fuel supplies in a convoy of 20 tankers loaded with more than 720,000 liters of gas oil; While the Lebanese officials neglected to mention Iraq in their statements in which they listed the countries that helped them to cope with the losses of the explosion.
The Lebanese Army soon realized the mistake and added the name of Iraq to the statement.
This August, a large explosion occurred in the port of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, resulting in 177 deaths, 6000 injuries and 30 missing, as well as the displacement of 250 thousand citizens.
