Diyala: Unidentified persons loot a Shiite shrine

Shafaq News / A local source in Diyala said today, Wednesday that unknown persons carried out a robbery at a religious shrine northwest of Baqubah.

 The source told Shafaq News agency, "Unidentified people carried out a robbery at the Shiite shrine of Imam Kamal al-Din in Jizani al-Imam village, 20 km northwest of Baqubah, and stole coolers and water pumps."

The source added, "The police is investigated identity the perpetrators, arrest them and refer them to the legal authorities to take the necessary measures against them."

Diyala includes hundreds of religious shrines belonging to the Sunni and Shiite sects, which are visited by people during religious occasions and holidays.
