Shafaq News/ A civil society activist survived an assassination attempt earlier today, Sunday, in Wasit governorate, South of Iraq.
A source told Shafaq News Agency that unidentified assailants opened fire towards activist Qassem Issa before heading to an unknown destination.
The victim sustained severe injuries, according to the source, which required transferring him to a hospital for urgent surgery.
