Iraqi PM calls Trump: To deepen strategic partnership between Iraq and USA
Shafaq News/ On Friday night, US President-elect Donald Trump, on Friday evening, expressed his desire to work positively with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and to meet soon.
According to a statement issued by the Iraqi Prime Minister's office, Trump expressed his desire to discuss the expansion of relations between Iraq and the US and work on these joint files.
“The two sides expressed their commitment to advancing the strategic partnership between Iraq and the United States and strengthening bilateral relations beyond security concerns, with a focus on cooperation in the fields of economy, finance, energy, and technology,” the statement added.
Iraqi Prime Minister highlighted his attention on Trump’s campaign statements and his commitment to working towards peace in the region. Both parties agreed to collaborate on achieving this goal.
The PM media office concluded, “The United States President-Elect expressed his desire to work positively with the Prime Minister and looked forward to meeting soon to discuss strengthening Iraq-US relations and advancing their shared priorities.”
