Al-Zurfi on: Basra assassinations is a war declaration

Shafaq News / A member of the Iraqi parliament and a former candidate for Prime Minister position, Adnan Al-Zurfi, considered the assassinations in Basra a "declaration of war" against the country, calling for a "major campaign" led by the Anti-Terrorism Service to control the matter.
Al-Zurfi tweeted, "What is happening in Basra in the series of assassinations against unarmed Young people is nothing but a declaration of war against the state," stressing that "the responsibility to protect citizens requires us to demand a major campaign led by the Anti-Terrorism Service and under the direct supervision of the commander."
He added, “Basra should get rid of these criminals, they are more dangerous than ISIS.”
The assassination of civilian activists in Basra by unidentified armed elements continued by almost free movement of armed groups, killing in broad daylight and without fistfights, video showed by street surveillance cameras.
Earlier, the PM who is visiting Washington said in a tweet followed by Shafaq News agency, "The Basra police chief and a number of security directors were removed from their offices because of the recent assassinations, and we will do everything for the security forces to carry out their duties."
He added “Threats by the killers are unacceptable,” adding that, “We will do whatever is necessary for the Ministry of Interior and Security services to carry out the mission of protecting the security of society from the threats of outlaws.”
