Al-Sistani’s statement about Beirut explosion

Shafaq News / Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani called, on Thursday, for solidarity with Lebanese people, and for providing assistance by all means available.

The office of Al-Sistani shared a statement received by Shafaq news agency stated that "the supreme religious authority in Najaf expresses deep sorrow, and regret over the tragic incident that the dear city of Beirut was subjected to following the explosion".

The statement pointed out that the explosion "resulted a large number of victims, missing persons, led to widespread devastation, and severe damage to buildings in an unusual tragic way".

"As we express our deepest condolences, and sincere sympathy to Lebanese people for this great misfortune. We ask Almighty God to help, and grant them more strength, patience and solidarity to overcome this great ordeal. We call upon believers, and all lovers of good in the world to show solidarity with it", the office of Grand Ayatollah added.

The statement concluded "We ask God to bless the victims, to inspire patience and solace for their families, and to grant the injured recovery and wellness".
