Al-Sadr will not allow a "consensus government" in Iraq, source close to al-Hannana says
Shafaq News/ The powerful Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr will not allow a "consensus government" to take over Iraq, a source close to al-Hannana, al-Sadr's headquarters, said on Saturday.
"Al-Sadr will hinder forming any government that adopts the consensus approach. Using the demonstrations card is highly probable if the Coordination Framework actively proceeded with forming such a government," the source who preferred to remain anonymous told Shafaq News Agency.
"The forces of the Coordination Framework are aware of al-Sadr's intents. Therefore, they are slinging around cautiously toward the quest of forming a government," the source said, "it knows that the Sadrist masses will hit the streets if any form of a consensus government materializes."
