34 arrests in the third phase of the security campaign in Basra

Shafaq News / The Commander of Basra Operations, Major General Akram Saddam, announced on Wednesday the results of the third phase of the campaign to confiscate fugitive weapons.
Saddam said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, "The operations were concentrated in the regions of north, south and west of Basra Governorate", adding, "the security forces managed to arrest 34 wanted persons".
Saddam pointed out to, "the arrest of a group of drug traffickers in the areas north of Basra".
Earlier this week, the security forces began a large-scale campaign to confiscate unlicensed weapons that are widespread among members of clans, armed factions and organized crime gangs.
