Turkey eases restrictions on goods transportation

Shafaq News / Turkish Trade Minister , Ruhsar Pekcan announced on Monday that Turkey had partially lifted restrictions on the movement of goods across land borders, after it had previously been suspended as part of anti-Corona virus measures.

The statement added that foreign drivers will be allowed to enter the Turkish lands to empty their cargo, without being subjected to quarantine, provided that they take all health measures to prevent Corona, and pledge to leave Turkey within 72 hours.

The statement indicated that the ministry will give priority to entering trucks that carry the necessary and urgent supplies such as foodstuffs, medicines and medical supplies.

With regard to Turkish drivers, they will be allowed to use the border crossings in and out, except for the crossings on the borders with Iraq and Iran.

The statement pointed out that Turkish drivers who want to use the land crossings are required to take all preventive measures from Corona, and not to show symptoms of infection with them.

Turkish drivers who comply with the aforementioned conditions will be allowed to leave their country through the land crossings, without waiting for the 14-day quarantine period.

As of Sunday evening, the number of people recovering from Corona virus in Turkey reached 29,140, ​​while the number of infections reached 110,130 cases, and deaths reached 2805 people.
