Iraq's oil exports decline for the second month in a row

“Exports have declined to 2,328 million barrels per day (bpd) in June from 2.484 million bpd in May,” Governmental company said in a statement briefed by “Shafaq News".

Iraqi exports to Turkey are still stopped since June 21 of last year after a leak in the pipeline, which carries Iraqi crude from Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan on the Mediterranean.

Exports from the south ports of the country have also affected due to bad weather.

Sumo explained that Iraq shipped 2.135 million bpd of oil from Basra in the south and 193 thousand bpd from the northern fields around Kirkuk, including 14 thousand barrels transported by trucks to Jordan.

This is the second decline of exports respectively, which fell to 2.484 million bpd in May from 2.62 million bpd in April.

Iraq aims to export 2.9 million bpd under the provisions of the country's budget for the current year.

Iraq seeks to double its oil production over the next three years and aims in the long term to pump 12 million bpd.
