Iraq announces the need for a million tons of wheat and 250 thousand tons of rice
Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Trade said on Wednesday that it advised the Cabinet that it needs to import one million tons of wheat and 250,000 tons of rice for its food support program and to enhance strategic stocks in the coming months.
The spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, Muhammad Hanoun, told Reuters that the crisis committee in the ministry had advised the cabinet to measure the needs of the food support program and enhance strategic stocks.
On Saturday, the ministry said it needed more funds from the budget to create a strategic reserve of wheat and rice as the country faced the growing problems of the Corona virus.
