Chinese company forces Iraqi workers to work two months in a row
Shafaq News / Iraqi workers at Bohai Chinese oil company accused on Sunday the company's management of forcing them to work for two consecutive months without a leave in addition to imposing a quarantine on them for 14 days without wages.
The workers made an appeal to the Governor of Basra, the Director General of Basra Oil Company, the manager of West Qurna 2 field that the company operates in.
"We are the workers in Bohai Chinese company operating in West Qurna Field 2 Cluster 9, and we number 80 workers. We complain to you about the injustice that we are subjected to by the Bohai Company. They forces us to ne in a quarantine for 14 days without spending any wages or allowances for us during the quarantine period. "
The workers in their plea say that "working for two consecutive months in the drilling field takes more capacity than what we can, knowing that if we violate the company orders, you will be fired from work."
Shafaq News was not able to contact the company's management to clarify the allegations of its employees.
